Taikai Sweatshirt
€ 69
On the front, the design features the Mitsudomoe Kamon, also known as the symbol of Hachiman, the protector of warriors (Dojo Arts Book of Earth – 28 – 32). Its placement above the words “Bujinkan Austria Nagato Taikai” was chosen intentionally – as a symbol of a “protective hand” over the event. Unlike the T-shirt, this front design is stitched, ensuring greater durability and longevity.
On the side, the Mitsudomoe Kamon appears again, also stitched.
The back is adorned with Sensei’s Kanji, set against a Sumi-e style painting of a flower. The flower represents natural beauty and the effortless act of giving energy – a visual interpretation of the meaning behind Sensei’s Shodō.
Interpretation of Sensei’s Shodō
This is our interpretation — of course, it may hold other meanings as well:
- 花精 (Kajō) – “Spirit of the Flower” reminds us to train with genuine heart and honesty.
Like a flower that blooms simply because it is its nature, our technique should be natural and without ego — whether anyone is watching or not. - 和楽 (Waraku) – Through 和 (Wa) – harmony and adaptability – we move together instead of against each other. The result is 楽 (Raku) – joy, ease, and also music (音楽, ongaku). A small and fitting connection to our host country, Austria.
