In this case, Daishihan from various countries will take over the training. Since costs will be lower, a partial refund will be issued.
Yes, you can transfer your ticket to another person up to one week before the event. Please notify the organizers with the new participant’s details.
No, registration is only available for the full seminar. Even if you can only attend one day, you must register for the entire event and pay the full seminar fee.
No. Tickets must be purchased in advance through our official website. The only accepted payment method is bank transfer to the specified account.
Yes, but refunds depend on when you cancel:
- Up to 90 days before the event: 100% refund (minus a 10% processing fee)
- Up to 60 days before the event: 75% refund
- Up to 30 days before the event: 50% refund
- Less than 30 days before the event: No refund
If the event is canceled, all ticket holders will receive a full refund.
Yes, a designated interpreter will translate Nagato Sensei’s instructions into English. In this case, we are honored that Daishihan Steve Olsen, a long-term Bujinkan practitioner living in Japan, will accompany Sensei.
The theme of the Taikai is Shizen Shigoku—centering around the pursuit of naturalness in movement. Be prepared for everything and nothing, as Sensei will share his knowledge in a way that is „natural“ to the given moment.
Training & Participation
Participation is at your own risk. Injuries sustained during training are usually covered by your health insurance. Additional accident insurance must be arranged individually. The organizers and instructors assume no liability.
For this seminar, we recommend bringing:
- TantĹŤ (padded or wooden)
- HanbĹŤ (padded or wooden)
- BokutĹŤ (padded or wooden)
A weapon rental service will be available on-site, with a refundable deposit required for each weapon. Priority will be given to attendees traveling by plane.
There are no formal designated uke for this event. Nagato Sensei will choose uke as he does in his regular classes in Japan—by picking a volunteer for each session.
No. Bringing or using metal weapons is strictly prohibited. Only wooden or plastic weapons are allowed.
Attendees are encouraged to wear their full dĹŤgi training uniform for all training sessions. However, if Nagato Sensei opts to teach in a t-shirt or sweatshirt instead of a dĹŤgi jacket (as he often does), participants are welcome to follow his example. (Please ensure that any t-shirts worn are appropriate and do not feature vulgar or offensive content.)
For footwear, attendees may wear cloth-sole tabi, leather-sole tabi, or socks during training. Rubber-sole tabi, sneakers, and bare feet are not permitted on the mats.
Yes, Godan tests will be conducted. Pre-registration is required. You must provide:
- A copy of your Yondan certificate
- A recommendation letter from a Shidoshi or Shihan
- A passport-style photo
- 50,000 JPY for the diploma & Shidoshi license
If you pass, your documents will be sent to Japan for processing. The event staff will assist with paperwork.
Event Rules & Logistics
The event venue has a dedicated parking lot. Please use the available spaces.
Upon arrival, your booking confirmation will be checked, and you will receive your event badge or lanyard. Keep this with you at all times.
Yes. An official media team will handle photography and videography. By registering, you consent to being filmed or photographed. Selected photos will be shared after the Taikai.
No. Filming and photography during training are strictly prohibited. Violations may result in exclusion from the event.
The closest major airports are:
- Munich Airport (MUC) – 100 km
- Innsbruck Airport (INN) – 80 km
- Salzburg Airport (SZG) – 125 km
There are direct train connections from Munich to Kufstein.
For the safety and well-being of Nagato Daishihan, participants, guests, and staff, a dedicated security team will be present throughout the event. You may see security personnel accompanying Nagato Sensei. Please respect their role, follow any instructions they provide, and ensure they have the necessary space to move freely.
Additionally, a medical service team from the Red Cross (Sanitätsdienst vom Roten Kreuz) will be on-site to provide assistance in case of any medical emergencies.
Additional Activities & Miscellaneous
Dress code: Business casual / smart casual.
- Men: A button-up shirt is preferred. No need for a full suit, but dress in a way that shows respect for the event and Nagato Sensei.
- Women: Equivalent smart attire. Choose an outfit that reflects respect and formality while remaining comfortable.

Yes, of course. There are also grocery stores within a 5-10 minute walk from the training location. Please note that all grocery stores in Austria are closed on Sundays.
No, bringing gifts is not recommended for this Taikai. While it is common to bring small tokens of appreciation to Bujinkan teachers in Japan, doing so here creates a burden for Nagato Sensei, as he must travel internationally with them. The best way to show appreciation is simply by attending and training.
The dinner will be held at a different location. It will be a nice get together with music and buffet. There will be vegan food available.
